One of DJK Developments’ most exciting new projects is a State-Of-The-Art, International Sports Village and Leisure Destination. To be located at Alethrico in Cyprus, this emerging multi-faceted Sports Centre is strategically placed between the Capital city of Nicosia, and precincts of Limassol and Larnaca; providing easy and quick access for over 70% of the island’s population and a short 20-minute drive from Larnaca International Airport facility.
The multi-purpose leisure facility will be the focus of international sports, leisure and entertainment events and an all-season destination point. It is destined to place Cyprus on the world sports’ map. At the centerpiece of the project will be playing fields, tennis academy, stunning pools and a state-of-the-art arena that will accommodate spectator seating for over 7,000 people, with the prospect of increasing this capacity to 15 000 seats for future APT 1000 tournaments. Tennis will feature highly and its 17 tennis courts will be utilized throughout the year A Tennis Academy will be introduced to attract new talent to the sport and develop enthusiasts into budding stars and professionals. Various tournaments and cups are planned along the way and will feature on the international circuit and events calendar; coaching and practice sessions will also be offered to members and non-members.
The Arena will also accommodate a plethora of other sporting events including hockey, basketball, mini football, volleyball, boxing, along with Olympic gymnastics, ice skating and other major international sporting events. Future projects will include The Larnaca Golf Resort and Country Club, The International Shooting Range and a Football Academy. The leisure and entertainment component will feature pet shows, auctions, local shows, and the world’s best, concerts, operas, musicals and theatre. The facility will also be utilized for internationally staged events and meetings, offering a unique collaborative environment and innovative business centre. The comprehensive centre will be a compelling one-stop environment where dynamic product launches, conferences and exhibitions will come to fruition and ideas will be turned into corporate realities. The functions centre will also be available for banquets, fund raisers, private functions, family dining and wedding receptions.
The residential component of this project will be aimed at targeting the local market as well as investors from the United Kingdom, Russia and Scandinavia. The lodging facilities will accommodate athletes and sports teams, performing artists and support teams, as well as incentive groups and tourists; and the corporate sector attending conferences. The project is designed to be a socially-integrated family recreation venue which will also include a luxurious Country Club with lodging for members, athletes and guests.
